Welcome to Ojal Montessori School (Est. 1971)
Thank you for visiting our website, we hope you will enjoy learning about how we believe we can support your child's introduction to the Montessori foundation.
Established in 1971, at Ojal Montessori (formerly known as Sudbury Hill Montessori School), we are very passionate about promoting the principles of Montessori Education as well as the EYFS (Early Years' Foundation Stage) Curriculum. We have a team of qualified Montessori Directresses and EYFS practitioners who are all dedicated to fostering the personal development of the children.
Montessori education allows children the freedom to develop at their own individual pace in a stimulating, holistic and therapeutic environment and recognises the early years of a child as holding the most pertinence, since it is the period when they have the most capacity to learn. With the range of activities and resources we provide, and by the adult role models, we ensure each child has an understanding and daily experience of the Montessori work cycle and the seven learning areas set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
To learn more about the school, please come and visit us along with your child by filling in the contact form.
"Our care of the child
should be governed, not by the desire to make him learn things, but by the endeavor always to keep burning within him that light which is called intelligence."
School Closure Update:
We wish you and your family upmost care, positivity and safety during this time.
Following guidance from the UK Government, the school will be closed until further notice. We recommend parents to look through resources online (blogs and articles on Google and several YouTube videos from a quick 'Montessori at home' search) to gain some inspiration as to how they can continue to practice the philosophies of Montessori and maintain an enriching and holistic form of education at home.
For children who are registered at the school, our team of Montessori Directresses are preparing virtual resources on a daily basis to send to parents.
Date of update: June 2020
FULLY FUNDED NURSERY EDUCATION GRANT - Limited Spaces from September 2020
Ojal Montessori School offers places to children eligible for childcare provision under both the 15 hours a week or 30 hours a week NEG (Nursery Education Grant) schemes.
From April 2020, we have removed the additional fee chargeable for the highly regarded, specialised Montessori education. Parents will now be able to send their children, who will benefit from the holistic and wholesome form of Montessori childcare provision, without being charged any additional monthly fees. We are currently accepting applications for spaces for January 2021 onwards, while we also have spaces from September 2020.
Please check if you are eligible for either the 15 hours a week or 30 hours a week NEG schemes by contacting the Ealing Family Information service (by calling 020 8825 5588 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org). You can also check eligibility yourself online by visiting https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/.
With school closures at the current time, although we are unable to offer physical visits of the school, we would be happy to arrange a call for parents to speak with one of our Montessori Directresses to learn more about Montessori and the activities and resources at the school. We would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Please get in touch with our team soon as we offer spaces on a rolling basis, and cannot guarantee a space will be available later on in the year. We would be able to complete the registration process online.
With current school closures, we will be sending digital, virtual resources to parents to help keep children intelligently occupied at home. We will also recommend some online blogs, articles and videos which include good resources for early years education and Montessori provision at home. Please get in touch with us so we can send these to you.
